I was pulling away from a stop light last night and heard an awful sound...clunk...and immediately thought "U Joint going south"...and started making plans for replacing it.
Today I heard it only on a few accelerations away from stop lights and was going to head over to pick up a spare just in case. They are only about $25 and always good to have a spare regardless.
So I stopped to vacuum out my truck and dump some garbage as I usually do on Saturday. As I pushed my driver seat forward with the truck parked, I heard the same sound...and thought "Aha!"
It was my coffee thermos behind the seat. It is metal and has a handle...when I brake the thermos rolled into the back of the seat but for some reason didn't make any noise until I pulled away from the stop and it rolled into the hump behind my seat...

I might still go pick up a spare U-joint anyway...and maybe a new thermos..one without a handle...
