Clunkers for cash

But they are NOT good parts!

well they arent good parts they are trash

to show you how bad I am, I am building my 97 ranger with a 2.3 turbo...bought 3 turbo coupes for parts...that should tell you I am not too bright...also bought 2 SVOs

Did you buy them as intentionally blown, cash for clunkers engines? If not, then I don't see the problem. In this case, these motors have been intentionally, permanently, irreversibly made 'all dead' (not 'mostly dead' like in Princess Bride).

Very good point....I paid 150 for each truck...so....not losing much

you could probably part out the rest and make your money back

after I get the ranger up and runing...that is the plan...cheap parts...i plan to give alot of people good deals...didnt cost me much

and I am still very confused about motor mounts...will the 2wd explorer work or not...seen post saying both
Back to your second post that never got answered. Coil spring suspension needs the custom motor mount plates and the 4.0L SOHC frame mounts. Torsion bar suspension uses the stock Explorer V-8 mounts.

Update........I think the heads can be saved.......the owner looked like he never changed the oil...heads gummed up really bad...the liquid glass is some nasty stuff...but with the gunk under the liquid glas it scapes of easy...how and where do I post pics of this....but the block s fried.

Post the pictures on Photobucket. Theres a sticky around here, think its in the oarts for sale fourm, that tell better. Its hard for me to explain but I do it using Photobucket.

My question is is the whole head going to have to be re-done or it is as easy as just cleaning it off and there you go, goods as new.

I am going to drop the valves out and hot tank the heads...then check valve guides with new stainless steel valves....got lucky....a set of GT40 heads off the 1997
