Clunkers for cash

Tha's one thing that is going to be more available now is the Explorer short front dress along with the intake system and engine wiring. It is a real shame to see some of what is going.

Im sry but do you know anything about this program or how they kill the motors? the scrap yard owners do have anything to do with the liquid glass. that is do at a dealership and the dealers wont let them leave till the motors are trashed. so no matter what the motor is going ot have the shit in it.

i know exactly how it works. i know how they kill the motors, however, for whatever reason, we have a running 4.0 out of a CFC vehilcle. i think it may be different in canada...

The '97' Explorer may or not have the GT-40 heads, they switched mid year. If you want to use the 2000 wiring and computer, you are going to add the PAT's module and corresponding key transponder. Why not use the '97' Explorer wiring and computer? It really doesn't care which fuel system you run.
Dave
I am wrong with what I said. The '97' will work with the returnless system but not the way it should. The different computers supposidly have different fuel tables. Always best to use a computer designed for which every fuel system you have. In your case might be easier to go with the '97' and convert to a return system. Sounds like you have access to several different motors.

just wondering what temp do they bake engines at when they clean the blocks and all that? just wondering if u could melt the stuff out

not hot enough the glass only starts to turn back into a liquid right b4 the metal starts to melt

I am thinking the heads can be rebuilt...replace valve guides..and valves.....should be ok....?

Dave......I think you are right....just run a return line and use the 97 system......I plan on a 255l pump anyway...going to thow a 100 shot to it to see if I can take a supercharged lighting

BTW...how do I join the V-8 RBV group?

You did say you broke a 3/4" socket trying to turn the motor, how locked up do you think the heads are going to be? Scrap them all and don't look back, save the good stuff.
Dave

dave...I broke a 3/4 breaker bar....used a 3 ft pipe as a cheater
