4.0, tk5, 8.8, explorer driveline swap all have been done to my b2.

i dont see why it would be clunking or pinging when i back up. last night it snowed we got six inches. so i used 4x4 and it pinged while driving forward. one time.

any ideas. i shook the drive line and it seems like the ujoints are fine. i can twist it a bit but didnt seem like there could have been an issue

Driveline swap with old U-Joints? If so change your U-Joints LOL. Most likely caused by a joint that isn't moving properly if at all. They can seize up and cause all sorts of noise.

as soon as my drive way is dry i will take it off and check it. as far as i know before the shortening and install the guy at the shop took the joints apart to inspect them. the shop is called six states. they are a good shop plus i was there too.

but for shits and giggles ill do it.

could have dropped a roller bearing while checking the joints. Its happened before and will happen again (nobodies fault, it happens sometimes). Replace the joints and noise should go away.
