Chrysler with a wiring problem!

Nope... sandpaper and a screwdriver.

Dynamite in the gas tank filler neck.

I cant keep track of these damn numbers...

Pretty much... The ground point at the body was fine but the actual pin inside the PCM connector was loose. Still have no idea how this affected the alternator but as soon as I fixed the pin the alternator output dropped to 13.5 and the ASD relay stopped clicking.

Chrysler uses the cheapest crap Ive ever seen for wiring, even the wire loom crumbles into dust when you touch it. It's like trying to rewire a 5,000 year old Egyptian mummy.

the pcm itself may decide there is an issue still from this.

moniter it for a few weeks.... seen this burn down a few vehicles.

specifically from the 13.5 vs 14.1....

It already almost burnt to the ground. The battery I took out was swollen and distorted from being over charged for so long... She said it was acting up for several weeks before she brought it to me, dunno how much longer it would have survived without bursting into flames.

I returned the new alternator but obviously didn't put the old battery back in. And then spent a good hour just cleaning and coating every ground wire I could find.

Took it for a 60 mile drive. No codes, no issues, voltage stayed right where it should (14.2 - 14.5 on startup, drop to 13.2 - 13.5 after a minute or two, 12.6 engine off). Ill make sure she brings it back asap if it hiccups.

Good job, Dr.

Odd side note...

When I went to clean out all my tools I popped the back hatch just to check if I left anything back there...

The back was full of fireworks. This is a one footed 80 year old woman who lives in an assisted living community. Wtf was she doing with a car full of illegal fireworks?
