Center console latch on my '94 Ranger is broken. Any cheap/easy fixes?

I thought I saw a replacement plastic insert listed on an online site the other day. CarID I think? It wasn't exactly cheap though.

There are 4 screws in the corners under the felt/rugging on the arm rest lid. This is where you have a map slot in the lid. Remove the map holder.

Trim any left over plastic to give the aluminum a snug fit and glue in place don't use quick set glue because you want to be able to adjust the placement once back together.

put the map holder plastic back on and check for fitment with the latch. let glue dry.

then your done.

You can also epoxy a screw up side down so the mechanism grabs head. Or carve a new hook out of wood and glue that in. I did the screw with my old truck, and later I made a new lid out of plywood and put the original foam and fabric on it
