Howdy y'all.
On this cold cold day I thought some of you would like to see my CB setup

Removed the ash tray, and bent L brackets to get it where I wanted it.

Mounted the mic holder behind the visor clip. Completely irreversible.

I'm running a Wilson Lil Wil for now. I plan to upgrade to either a 102 inch whip or a tram 3500. So far I am very happy with this antenna. Did not need any swr adjustment.

Showing the only visible part of the coax inside the cab. Very clean routing thanks to my dad.

Hopefully this inspires some of you to get a setup of your own. Here in texarkana, cb is far from dead. When I was out delivering food last night I was talking to a handful of people with base stations and mobiles.

edit - fixed the formatting. on my phone it looked fine but I got on my computer and it looked like crap!

Like this ? There's also a radar detector below the CB.

CB's and Radar detectors... I'm having 80's flashbacks.

Also, did you install a bunch of switches over your airbag? :icon_confused:

Shadowrider, that is a pretty awesome setup! I thought about mounting mine up top, but I am happy where it is.

Yes sir, I'll take a picture and post it when I go back out.

I also installed two double USB charging ports (a 2.5 & a 3.0), two socket ports and of course, A cigarette lighter. I figured that since there wasn't an air bag there, why not use the empty space. All the switches are LED rockers, 5 different colors make it easy to know which of the running light's are in use during the day. Besides, it looks pretty good at night too.

I had this bright idea with a modified "Shelf-It" organizer. Didn't work out very well, first time I hit the backroads that thing came crashing down. I just have the quad-band transceiver in my Bronco 2 now, got rid of the CB and GMRS, and sadly lost my auxiliary power outlets up top and the antenna switch, but haven't really bothered figuring out other mounting locations because the radio no longer works anyhow. I just have the single radio mounted on the lower dash panel in front of the gearshift, left the wiring easily accessible in case I decide to move it but have no clue where the heck I'd put it other than there, no other place really that I could find other than maybe on the front of the center console, but I need to get a replacement radio first.

I also have a little 4" magnet mount antenna rather than the longer whip type antenna as it would get caught on everything and couldn't park on my carport without it hitting the rafters, so down it came and got the little 4" stubby antenna which works very well for no bigger than it is.

My first Ranger I put an aftermarket single DIN radio in and made modifications to the mount and a compact CB to mount in the dash with the radio. That was my blue 2000.

My choptop the CB mounts to the roll cage, I used some exhaust clamps to make the mount. Antenna is a 102” mounted to the spare carrier for now.

F-150 has the CB mounted in between visors above the rear view. 102” mounted to the rear bumper.

Green 2000 I intend to put a remote mount CB in the center console and a 102” on the rear bumper.

Have not figured out the rest yet, lol

My CB was originally mounted on the dash, where my right knee was supposed to be. Needless to say, it didn't take long before it got moved.

Tuned Galaxy DX949 on the lower dash and a Wilson 2000 antenna in my 86
