Cars? What do you drive?

Stay tuned and we will find out together!
Here’s a GTR motor in an Altima body...
70595

All it took was a custom full tube chassis.

That is clearly a ford ranger with a drift kit....

They are the ugly 2wd awd type.
Cars should be built like RC cars... 4 pins, take the body off and swap a different one on.

My new ranger looks real similar....

I've driven both, a G35 and an Altima coupe. Stock form. Not much difference in the interior layout or the performance. The G can get sideways, sure, but other than that, they are very similar. ( Maybe not the same platform, but they sure are close to carbon copies of each other and use a lot of the same parts) So IF you want to save a few thousand dollars, get the Altima.

If you really want a sleeper, get a 2004 Altima SE-R. 4 DOORS and all.

Didn’t Ford fix the jag’s electricals when they owned them? Years ago I was picking between a Grand Marquis and a Jag. The Marq was really nice. It was neat going 80 at 1500 rpm. Note that they had paint flaking problems in early 2000’s. Look for peeling paint on the front middle of the roof or in the middle of the hood. And you’ll want an ‘03 or newer… got a big update that year… stiffer frame, rack and pinion, prolly more.

IMO, any vehicle that has been maintained is a good vehicle. That being said, service centers that report to carfax can help make that decision. Individuals that says they have all maintenance records, you need to look at all records to see if they match the vehicle. IMO a receipt from an autoparts store for oil does not count.

Over the many years of having vehicles, the ones I took my time to look for a good daily or vehicle for kids turned out to be great vehicles and inexpensive. Set your limit as you have done and keep to it.

This is the key phrase from the post I got slammed for: Every vehicle has it's faults.
If Ford or GM sold a truck that had structural frame rot in 6 years, and the problem started in the 1995 model year but didn't get corrected until 2009, Consumer Reports wouldn't be singing their praises.
If Ford or GM sold vehicles that they documented drivers being killed by airbag deployments in 2001 and didn't issue a recall until 2014 when NHTSA forced it, the CEO would be hanging in front of the court house.
If Ford or GM engineered an emissions cheat device into their vehicles for years before getting caught, the CEO would be in jail and the company would be forced out of business.
Every vehicle has it's faults and I've never swallowed the foreign good- American bad myth. I always tried to do a good job at work and the vast majority of tech who worked for me did, too. I don't assume anyone else goes to work to turn out garbage.
