Car lift - 7,000lbs

Okay @Rick W and @alwaysFlOoReD
I got 2 more cents.

I know for a fact that @alwaysFlOoReD can testify to how much I talk in my post in my thread ( I'm sure I got a short ).
I do believe I've seen you as well @Rick W checking in on my thread ( I'm sure I got a short ) too.

However as I said if you don't believe I can talk just check out my thread ( I'm sure I got it short ) you'll see.

Okay I'm done for this time.

I just edited my post #46 in this thread.
My spell check had misspelled some words in the name of my thread ( I'm sure I got a short ) in one spot. It's fixed now.

I don't think things thru, or someone else may have a better way of doing things.

Is this not pretty much the reason we're all here? That and a love of RBVs.

Today I've been working on the lift. Yesterday I pulled the drain plug on the reservoir and nothing came out. I assumed it was empty and went to work without putting in the plug because I saw a couple drips of water. I thought I would let the water drip out until I got back. Came back to a bunch of hydraulic fluid on the ground... FML. I guess there was some crap damming the outlet.
Today I filled it up. It took about 1.75 gallons of hydraulic fluid. I happened to have some aw46 from some previous yardsale find, so used that. That saved me probably $50-75.
Then I turned my attention to the lifting pads. The rubber was long gone on all of them, and one is missing the 1/4" x 3" x 5" metal that the rubber is bolted to!?... But the acme thread is still there. So I took them all off the arms and cleaned them up. 2 had small bolts underneath that I assume had a big washer at one time to prevent unscrewing the pad too far. I used my little Rigid 6" pipe wrench for the first time ever! Turns out the thread on these little bolts is metric! I have the tap needed and cleaned up all 4.
Next is to find some 1/4" plate to make a new pad. That will happen after a nap...

I don't have a working drill press, so have to use a hand drill. I don't want to break my wrist, so thought a step drill would be least likely to grab. That idea proved correct, but the cheap step drills don't like drilling 1/4" plate. But luckily I found a Unibit, but it only went to 1".

Spent an hour on the pissant 1.5amp 6" bench grinder to get the shaft small enough to fit the 1" hole. Done deal... Tomorrow I will paint them before installing the rubber pads.

Sorry but I didn't see any paint on them yet.
So their not done yet.
And once you get done painting them and then remount them, you can go stand in the corner for 15 minutes.
You better make sure your nose is pressed all the way into the corner.
Ha. Ha. Ha.

Rustoleum, in a 1 gallon can, is the way around here. ;)

I don't need no stinkin' rustoleum! I use Rickoleum!!!

For those who may not know, Rickoleum is rustoleum bought at a discount on craigslist, store closings, or yard sales.

@Dougjustgotout for proof, just look at any of my vehicles or most of my possessions and my home.

@alwaysFlOoReD I understand having your time crunch.

I also know that procrastination can come back and bite you in the butt.
I'm also a believer in my touch something 10 times when you can only touch it five and be done with it.
That's why I'm so on where's the proof.

Believe me in reality I do understand.
However if I didn't raz somebody at least once a day I'd feel like I'm sick. Yesterday it was just you that I focused my razzing on.
