cant afford to continue to replace this dame tire!!!


Yup, but if the bushings are shot and the bolts are siezed into the sleeves... good luck! I was still able to get a few out when I did my 63's originally but they were wishboned in the center, wore down and I just replaced them all. It's cheap insurance against failure later down the road.

i dont see why u couldnt aslong as they are not stripped out bent or broken any anyway then id reuse em. and has your truck ever been wrecked?
 
this is just a thought i am honestly not sure if it would cause your tire to wear like it is but do you maybe have a bent rim???? if i was you i would take the tire and wheel that is wearing faster then the rest of em and swith it with one on the oppiste side(unless they are directional tires) and drive it for a week or so then check and see if the tire u replaced the worn one with has down down alot. i honestly dnt know if a bent rim would do make ur problem appear or not but it would be worth a shot.
 
The truck has never been wrecked. the bent rim could have been a possiblity except the fact that i changed rims when i changed tires. I got out 3 bolts 3 are STUCK im gonna cut them in the morning what size bolt do i need to replace them with and made from what material what i have gathered i need M14-2X108 will a hundered and 110mm work? oh and once i got the leaf out of the rear hanger i noticed that there was about only half of the overhang part of the hanger left thats the same side as my tire wear... do i really need to take the bed off to replace this part?? this job is wearing on my nerves and wallet
 
i am not sure what bolts u are replaceing but if the diameter of the bolt is the same has the hole diameter yes it will and im sure u dnt have to remove the bed but it will make it 10 times easier
 
just an update... I got the new bushings in my truck when i got the old ones out it they didnt seem to be in that bad of condition but once i put in the new energy suspension bushing in it made a huge difference no more hopping from side to side when i hit bumps on the highway less sway when i get hit by a cross wind and less need for consant steering correction while driving..... so some tips for others that i learned while doing this project #1 dont do it just buy a new truck!!(this was a simple in theory job but a serious headache!!) #2 if you are thick headed enough to do it anyway make sure you have EVERYTHING you need before you start (breaker bar, lots of breakfree spray, tall enough jack stands, 6 new bolts to relace the old ones, grinder or sawzall, a drill with enough small drill bits, and some relaxing music cuz this job will piss you off) #3 do not do not do not use a torch at anytime!! the torch made my old bushings gooey and sticky and even harder to get out, also dont use it to help break free any nuts if you are using a sawzall to cut off the bolts it hardens them and makes them nearly impossible to cut #4 if you use a sawzall to cut the bolts which i had to do (cuz i dont have a grinder) go SLOW cut in intervals 15-20 seconds at a time or you will get the bolts super hot and they will harden and it will take like 30 mins to cut each side and you will got thru a lot of blades if you can keep the bolts from heating up which they do very easily you can get through the bolt in like 3-4 mins and not ruin your blades. #5 once you are ready to get the bushings out press them out or drill them out dont torch them it will just make drilling them suck and take longer and be very messey #6 dont let your axle get back to far while springs are unattached or OOPS your rive shaft will fall out and that just one more thing you will have to do to get everything back together #7 i just pressed the new bushings back in with a c clamp and two sheets on metel to put between the clamp and bushings it was easy with the lube i got with my kit #8 make sure you press the bushings in with out the metel sleeve al ready in there put the bushings in then put the sleeve in #9 bolt the front leaf in first!! #10 i guess you are supposed to tighten the bolds down after everything is put back together and you put the weight of the truck back on the springs
 
ARe you still wearing the tire oddly after the bushing replacement? IF so, like the others say, your axle may be bent, OR the axle is twisted slightly and not square to the frame. Also check those shackles to see if they are moving, if they arent, that would cause the tire to be dragged as the suspension flexed.
 
it doesnt seem to be wearing BUT im sure this is like that whole "a watch pot doesnt boil" thing so Ill just have to take a look at it in a month or so the bushings did make things much tighter and in two weekends ill be adding new rear hangers i figure ill fix them before they break (which the one is going to do soon)
 
And also as you may have seen, treadwright.com has some cheap tires people on here seem to like, cheap as in under $100.00.
 
None of the shackles or brackets are broken or installed wrong? Broken spring, u-bolt/retainer on wrong...?

Otherwise the axle's fubar. Looks like you have maybe 1/2-1 degree off there. There isn't much that can make a solid suspension track wrong short of broken parts.
