Im sure there is a lot of different causes of my problem but my passenger side rear tire keeps going bald i have stock ride height, new tires, and new shocks and and the tires were balanced when they were replaced. The old tire were 225/70/14 and went bald on the passenger rear I replaced all 4 with 31X10.5 on 15 inch rims and now after about 3 weeks of driving the passenger rear wheel tread has already been cut in half!!! and before anyone says it - no i dont do any burnouts. please help!!

bent axle sounds liek the reason. or ifts not bent it might be out of alignment badly.
do u get any weird vibration at speed?

I never noticed a vibration before but with these new tires it has been getting worse and worse it almost sounds like im driving on super swampers with that drone/hum only it isnt as loud. how would my axle get bent in the first place and how would i know if its bent?

the hum might be a sign. my bros truck had a hum at 45 mph, and it was the axle. it had a crash and the axle got out of line.
measure the distance between the front and rear tires and see if theres a variation.

Or just take it for a 49.99 alignment someplace. Even 2 degrees off will chew your tires like cookie dough but you will never be able to accurately measure such a small difference.

well im taking it in for an alignment tomorrow whick kinda of sucks cuz i really wanted to replace the bushings up front before i got this donee but oh well i guess

Its normal for snow tires to wear fast but thats just not acceptable. I got about 3 winter seasons out of my cooper weather masters, Is your axle open or a trac loc? I agree a bent axle would cause one tire to scrub and wear quickly, but unless it was over loaded or jumped i dont know how it would get bent?

do u happen to have weilded spider gears??? because if u do it will not let the inside tire slow when ur turning so it will scrub rubber off quick. but that would also mean u have to turn the same way alot for just one tire to be worn that bad. i am deffinatly going to say its a bent axle or maybe a bad wheel bearring and it is letting the axle become sloppy in the houesing

it has an 8.8 open, no modified spider gears, and bearings felt alright I suppose. i couldnt take it into the shop today because im replacing the bushings in the leafs and the bolts dont want to pull out of the sleeves .....mmother effers!.... so no diagnosis from the alignment shop yet i have my fingers crossed it isnt a bent axle i dont think i can afford that

and im comppletely stuck at this point in the bushing replace ment because my jack stands arnt long enough to reach the frame

Step 1: get big enough jack stands or enough blocking
Step 2: Bust out the torch or sawzall
Step 3: Install new Bushings/Bolts

Severely worn bushings may also cause the tire issues you are having as it will allow the truck to drag one side down the road, however this usually causes wear in both sides.

I'd look towards a bent housing, a bent axle (shaft) will cause a wobble and funny tire wear, but not like you have.

Get the spring bushings in, check the leaf springs center pin and make sure it's intact, then take it for an alignment/diagnosis.
