Can you put a Dana 44 TTB in a 85 ranger 4x4

The real question is, could you throw a ttb 44 in the rear?

Someone did just that on here a couple years ago (was called the Grizz Crab or something like that). I think the thread got lost in the last forum changeover fiasco though. Not sure what ever became of it.

I don't see too much room for error in widening the beams unless the dude's incompetent at welding (they're just formed steel). You'd be using a piece of 1" wide, 3/16" thick strip steel formed into the same cross-sectional shape as the beam.

cool would it be ok plate it also to help strengthen it or would the heat possibly weaken the beams

So did anybody else notice that the top ranger has a sport track rear window. I was really wondering if that would work when i was at the junk yard yesterday. I almost bought it just to find out. I thought it would be pretty tits to have a rear window that would roll down. But that pic almost looks photo shoped, like it is a sport trac and a ranger box.

That just looks fun to drive. Like a IRS 4wheeler. so smooth and buttery.:icon_surprised::icon_surprised::icon_surprised::icon_surprised::icon_surprised::icon_surprised::yahoo:

If you lengthen the pivots you won't need to do any shaft mods. The pivots on the F150 are about 2" narrower than the RBV pivots.

If you bolt up the D44 to the RBV pivots you need to either take 2" out of the long side shaft or get a custom one made.

One I'm working on.
