There'd be nothing left to the pole after drilling a hole to accept that pin

It doesn't have to be that big... was just suppose to be a picture of it... not the link.

I have a pier fishing net that is about 8 foot long when extended. I have a six foot extention I put on it using one of those hitch pins... works well and I just clip it on the extention when not needed... I haven't lost it yet.

I went ahead with the electrical tape, it worked like a charm. The brush doesn't budge in the extended position and works the way it's supposed to.
