www.car-part.com

Search for mid 70's Pinto or Mustang II.... you could also get very lucky and look in one of your local junkyards for an '83-85 Ranger or Bronco II that has already been swapped.

It is very hard to find distributors for these and almost as hard to find a good carb. I found mine from a guy who lives 3 hours away and had several Mustang IIs that he was parting out - I had a want ad on Craigslist for months and he just happened to see it and respond.

worth a shot
I'd get it from Summit instead if that's what you want, their return policy is better. I got a new, unfortunately Chinese, Duraspark distributor for my 351 from Napa. Unlike the also Chinese made Pertronix unit I bought first, the Napa one has a functional and tunable advance curve.
Gary Baum at Second Generation Mustang in Pa. is apt to have one, too.

do you have any contact info for gary at second gen mustang

Has anyone tried the one from Jegs?

Same distributor. "Remanufactured Motorcraft Distributor" & "Current Estimated Shipping Time For This Distributor is 8-12 Weeks"

Those two statements would not make me very hopeful that it would ever actually ship... I could be wrong but they probably have to search for a month or two in order to find a rebuildable core...and as you are finding out, even those are very scarce.

Yea thats what I was worried about also. Thanks for the input.

Do the distributors from jegs or summit work for the 2.8l duraspark conversion?

I would think so. The same company makes the DUI distributors which, though ugly, are supposed to work good.

You have a link to the dui distributor?
I've seen DUI distributors in V8's, I noticed he name of the company is the same but I don't know if they offer a 2.8 DUI unit.

Doesn't DUI stand for Davis Unified Ignition? Isn't that an English company? I thought the 2.8 was sold in England too...

The link I posted above is to the DUI site and they are for all intents and purposes, out of stock.
