I am trying to find some info on how to remove and replace the cam shaft? On a 1988 Ford Ranger xlt it has the 2.9l v6 in it.

Pull the motor. Intake, heads, rockers, lifters, timing cover, timing gear, remove the cam cover, slide it out.

Oversimplified...im sure someone will be along whos more detailed.

Rusty did over simplify the procedure. 1st question is why do you need to replace it? 2nd question is your depth of building motors? 3rd do you have a haynes/chilton ranger truck book for references?

cheers
