Ive been in contact with duffy about building some new stuff. Heres the deal... I have the 1350/1354 combo.. Im sitting at something like 117:1 crawl. What ive proposed to him is making a plate/shaft to bolt on a Dana300 behind the 1350 or 1354 crawlbox. Stock D300 has 2.63:1 (i think) vs the 2.48. Ability to be twin sticked and what I intend to do (whole purpose for kit) Put a LoMax 4:1 kit in. This would bring my Ratio from 117:1 to 189:1, twin sticks and a nearly bulletproof rear case (easier to flatbelly as well). Duffy also sells the twin stick kit which will allow you to flip the box, no leaks from doing so and have shifters. He needs 4 orders to run this production. Kit will be $499, the twin stick kit is something like $169 and if you havent already priced out LoMax its $600. a safe Number im thinking for this entire swap full blown is around $1500. less than $1000 though if you're not doing 4:1.

and as a side note, i think this kit would also allow the driver drop, GM 241 to be bolted on, incase anyone wondered.

anybody interested in going in on something like this?

Is he still offering his doublers?

yes. I just spoke with him today. He doesnt keep alot of ford in stock because lack of interest. but yes he does.

That is good to know. How does a guy get a hold of him?

360-649-4465. Just tell him you saw this post.

all i know is I want to climb up walls in my ranger. even with 456s the stock 2.9 and tcase just dont cut it. Im thinking one of his doubler set ups is the way to go.

Damn, get some suction cup tires and change your name to Spiderman.

Its a good idea, and had I not built the 1350/1354 doubler already I may have been interested in the new kit. BUT, I already spent the money on the 1350/1354 doubler, built it, installed it, wheeled it, and loved it :D. I'll let ya know if I grenade my rear case.

this made me LOL jim:D

I just need more than the 117:1 and I really dont like thinking of buying an AtlasII. may be the only choice.

a doubler will let you climb up walls, yes.

any idea what the gear ratio would be without the Lo Max kit?

is there a specific year or model of dana 300 that I would need for this swap/kit? It looks like there are a few different versions.

Will the kit hes making work with either 1350 or 1354? Ive got a manual 1350 case I could use.

I know there are close tolerances and probably special tools used for this kind of mod, but is it extremely difficult or can the average mechanic "build" a doubler.

yes the average mechanic can build this doubler. its pretty straight forward. without the lomax kit on my truck. just swapping in a D300 would take me from 117:1 to 124:1.. the D300 needed is the jeep CJ D300's.

im definately interested now. i can get a d300 locally for $200 or maybe less and found currie linkage kit brand new for $120. I want a kit, so I guess that makes two of us huh? I can post up on some other rbv forums to generate interest. Id love to make this happen.
