what is the tube running up the bell housing and ending near the distributor. I know it's not the dipstick tube. The one on my B2 has a rubber cap on it. Is it a vacuum line? Does it dramatically affect the shifting? Thanx in advance for any help

its either the vent tube or the vacuum line for the modulator.

my guess is the later

If a vacuum line, what type of vacuum is needed? Ported or Manifold. Does it need a delay?

manifold vacuum.

does it shift right?

my guess is it shifts very late and if its in good shape very hard.

Shifts great now. It was the vacuum port to transmission. Thanx a bunch. LET IT SNOW IN COLORADO!!!!!
