C5 in a 1999 B3000 computer question

I'm considering installing a C5 I used to have in an 88 Ranger 4x4 2.9 into a 99 B3000 4x4.
Will I have to reprogram the computer or will the computer just omit the 5r44e without any issues?

Keep in mind I already know the physical aspects to swapping having done it before and even posted
it here a few yrs back. I just want to know the computer/electrical issues, if any.

thanks

You're trying to run the C5 behind the 3.0?

My WAG is you would want a computer that is meant for a standard. Otherwise it should run but won't idle correctly and may post a cel because it won't find the auto its looking for.

Yes, best method would be to use a 1998-2000 Manual trans 3.0l computer(plug and play), but current computer would work for now, just the CEL would be on all the time, because trans solenoids are missing
Manual trans computer won't look for the solenoids

Where did you find a 3.0l bell housing that fits a C5?

I hope he paid in advance ;)

If it was behind a 2.9 its not even going to bolt to a 3.0

I'm sure a bellhousing or adapter plate can be made, if not already available in the aftermarket.
