c3 swap to c4

So i recently bought a c4 from a 79 Fairmont 200 strait 6 and also purchased a l4 bell housing from a 78 pinto ps if anyone is looking for strait six bell let me know anyways rebuilt the c4 and plan to put it in my 83 ranger 2.3 roller and im wondering if anyone has done this before and if so do u have any pointers or advice im just trying to get some additional information before i attempt the swap. All answers are appreciated
