BW1350/1350 Doubler

I just finished mine. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had any troubles with a two piece shaft. I am worried about the strength of my welded intermediate shaft.

Generally if you always have the transfer case in LO before you engage the doubler, you should be fine. DON'T EVER run the doubler in LO with the t-case in HI though. This is what tends to break intermediate shafts.

Ya. I have a leak coming from the shifter on the doubler. My fill plug is higher than the shifter. 4X4junkie where is your fill plug? Im just wonderin if i lower the oil level below the shifter will the doubler get too hot?

I know it can be filled to the top but im leaking fluid in the high/low shifter on the stubler. Im wondering if the doubler will get too hot if i run the fluid below the shifter?

You got a bad seal or O-ring if it's leaking there.

My fill plug is where the stock breather hose fitting was on the front (I took the breather fitting out and tapped the hole bigger for a fill plug). I then relocated the breather to the top of the doubler case. Fluid level is about halfway up the planetary gearset. Any lower than about 1/3 and you may risk damage from lack of lubrication.

Only thing you might want to do if you put it up there is put a splash baffle or something inside so the fluid slung up by the gears doesn't splash up the breather hole, as I've had a bit of fluid belch out of the hose on real cold mornings.

Ya good idea. I have my breather tube on top of the doubler and the breather tube runs up into my plastic shifter cover and have had no problems with fluid comin out of the tube.

I just really dont want to take it all back apart, between school and work im pretty tight on time.

you should take it apart to get rid of that 1350 rear case.

doublers are fricken sweet, props to anyone who has made their own. Just shows how motivated ranger guys are. We dont need aftermarket bolt ons.

dana 300's are where its at. Purchase your kit for only $499 usd with us!:headbang:

D300's are rare as hens teeth here. Everyone thinks they are made of gold.

I've got three manual 1354's and have 6 manual 1350's. I've got enough parts to keep me going for a while. Just need to get a new intermediate shaft made since the last one failed on me.
