Hey guys, I am new here, but not new to fords. Currently working on a 01' sport trac that I swapped the drive train out of a 5.0 explorer and got rid of the awd tcase and put a 4406 out of an f-150. The truck is being built as a desert truck and has long travel suspension. Hoping to get away from the slip yoke on the back of the 4406 tcase and go to a fixed yoke. I have not come up with an SLE kit, but have come across several builds where people converted a slip yoke to a fixed yoke by drilling and tapping the end of the output shaft and bolting on a slip yoke, then running the slip in the dshaft.
A quick search here and I did not come up with anything, just wondering if many of you are playing with the 4406 case and if I am missing something for a SLE for it? Does anybody know of a 31spine slip shaft with a flange on it like this: http://www.driveshaftsuperstore.com/SYE YOKES AND FLANGES ONLY.htm#Slip Yoke Eliminator for FORD
The above company no longer exists.
Regards,
Brent
