i would like to note, for the record, the dell that i recommended is a business grade model, not a consumer model, it suffers none of the ill effects the machines of old suffered.

we have about 60 of them at work, they are wonderful.

Laptops

I have a used Acer Aspire I bought for $100, I loaded Vista premium and no problems with it in a year so far. Just remember about when you buy an HP, if you ever have to call for customer service its $25. My dad just retired an old Dell 500 mghz that was 11 yrs old and he never really had any issues with it either. So I just really suggest alot of research, ask questions and find out what all is included with support, and for how long. Just like chevy blazers and isuzu's, and laptops, there is always gonna be the bad ones and the few that last a lifetime without so much as even a hiccup.

Its very funny.

All laptops have there ups and downs like previously stated. We are all gonna give you the ones we like best. We are all fan boys of something, ie Apple vs PC.

Best thing to do is shop around, find deals, and read reviews. There is no perfect laptop out there.

Also almost forgot. All toshiba satellites run hot, it is there one fault.

I have found that is if you take dust off and clean out the fan areas and heat sink it won't overheat. Just a friendly Fyi
