Burnt2deaths 02 Ranger Edge Build

How do I know what gears I have or what rear end? Sorry for the noob question...

The door sticker has an axle code.
then check the tech library to get the ratio for the code.
code 86 is 3.73 gears
87 is for 4.10s.

or get under the truck and check the rear dif cover. theres a tag. the 3 first numbers are your gear ratio.

i bet u have 4.10s.

Thank you. I will look that up in the morning. What is the best gear to run for a lot of mud and rocky terrain? I also do quite a bit of on road highway driving...

it depends on the tire size ur getting. usually u regear to slower ratios-bigger in number to compensate for bigger tires.

3.73 and 4.10s are good gearings for mild off road and 31 inch tires.

Thanks. I will see what I have.

Also today marked one month even of owning it! One of my favorite rides I have owned so far out of over 20 vehicles. Ive been beating the shit out of it just about every day off road lol.

Went out and had some fun today down at my little spot. Had some fun. Nothing else to do today...

Some new pics from today. Sorry if its too many photos and too often. lol.

I found a brush guard and side steps I am going to get from the u-pull yard tomorrow. Looked like they were both in good condition.

Got 3 decals in the mail today.. Still haven't gotten my premium decals if I do even get them... Also I have no 86 or 87 written anywhere on my door like some have said I should... I know next to nothing besides it has a v6. And its a 3.0l. engine... Awesome...

How was cranking the t-bars? Thinking about doing that and getting some 31s to make my 2wd look a little more manly.

Took 2 seconds really. Easy to do. Raised the front too match the rear a lot more and fit the tires for the most part. I did still have to trim a little of the front plastics and remove the mud flaps as well.

You should be able to fit 31's w/o trimming or a t-bar crank. Granted the t-bar crank makes it look super nice. But you really shouldn't need to trim with a t-bar crank. Least I wouldn't think so.

the edge package started out as a 2wd with 4x4 ride height and torsion bars and a decal. it got popular, then ford changed it to either a 2wd with 4x4 ride height or a regular 4x4 with an edge decal

Is it really gonna eat through the tires that bad if I don't get it aligned? Cause I am really not feeling paying like a hundred bucks to get it done haha
