Building to last

@Robert Mangrum You're right! 💪 I can do this myself, I'll just rent or buy the tools I need, read up on the articles here, and cross reference the manual.

@lil_Blue_Ford Thank you for the names of the spray, video reference, and telling the difference on the 35 or Hybrid this helps :)

Rockauto hasn’t had a customer service line for awhile. Also part of why I stopped dealing with them

Say hello to my new shocks-
Building to last

I'm not going to use profanity but I'm ******* elated! 🤩

09/15- after driving my truck for a good minute I parked at a store and noticed that there's a bit of a funky burning smell going on.
Sorry but these pictures are pretty crappy. 😣 so is the video.
Pic 1- the underneath.
Pic 2- view from the top of a lil leakage from the new water pump.

Whatever is leaking that much should be low. Looks like oil to me but it's hard to tell after run down a dirty engine/transmission.

I keep checking fluids but there's not a noticeable difference.Today and tomorrow I'm going to put a trap down and really clean underneath.

Dumb question but is a old grill brush ok to clean with?

Stiff nylon would be better.

@RangerThings
It looks like you used ReD RTV to seal your water pump; did you also use the standard gasket?

RTV:
1) let it set up 3-4 minutes before bolting on the components
2) once the component is bolted on, the RTV needs to firm up for approximately 1 hour before final torque is applied; otherwise the final torque may squeeze the sealant too thin 😭
3) RTV will not be FULL CURED until after 24 hours, exposure to fluids prior can erode of penetrate the seal when not fully cured.

Oven cleaner or degreaser (my favorite is ZEP) will take clear 95% of the mess you have pictured. Afterwards spray it off will the hose or a spray bottle of water. The water does 2 things;
a, it dilutes the cleaning solution residue
b, it rinses
