I currently drive my 2001 2wd Ranger completely stock on the roads and trails north of Phoenix. It is quite a rush sliding through corners and flooring it down straightaways however after last weekend I need to do some modifications. I lost control of the truck and took it down into a ditch full of rocks/boulders that just about destroyed my rear driver side wheel.
Thank God I didn't blow out my tire, those Yokohama Geolander A/T held up pretty well. I feel that if I had some taller tires the rim may have been spared. Of course if my wheels had continued to remain in contact with the ground I might not of ended up in said ditch
Wondering what I can do as far as springs and shocks that will give me a better ride a more travel? This will never be intentionally jumped and I'm not racing 500 miles through the desert. Just want to have some slightly more controlled fun on the weekends and camping trips.
