Overkill maybe :dntknw:........................haha dont think so. to us guys aint nothin ever too BIG! :headbang::icon_cheers:
It's just a standard 2" bore 8" stroke hydraulic cylinder, pretty much standard dimensions for hydraulic ram assist steering.

Loving the level of skill/quality/attention to detail/patience on this build. any particular reason you went with a single ram acting ram instead of a double acting ram? Cost?
Also, is there any plan for the appearance of this truck once your built? or just a nice coat of trail rash...
I'm getting a lot of criticism for how long this project is taking me, but when you do pay attention to the details things just take more time. For hydraulic assist, you wouldn't want/need the DE ram. Full hydro would be a different story. Appearance? Probably not.

Thanks man. I'll have to take a look at your thread.

I see you went with a high steer arm on the pass side knuckle. What's the 'block' on the driver's side? Does it have the taper that accepts the ball joint?

ah kingpin 60. gotcha. I need to pay closer attention lol

Shiniest thing on the whole truck:

Bolted trans cross member in and bolted trans mount. I think I should upgrade to a polyurethane mount, this one's got a fair bit of movement to it. Going to drill the other four holes to get it bolted in for "final assembly".

I painted the front axle tonight, all that's left on the axle are the steering cylinder mount on the cover and tie-rod clamp, and shock tabs. I have to make one more hoop and weld them both on the frame. Then repack the rear leaves and install shocks back there too. I have to devise a fancy method for rerouting the exhaust so that it clears the driveshaft, but I have a plan in mind. It's going to start coming together quickly now I think...

Looking good John. Its always a good feeling to see the end in sight. I'm running a poly mount on my t-case, I should get a poly trans mount and engine mounts as well. What's your take on running a poly mount at the trans and worn out rubber engine mounts?

dishtowel-I got my poly trans mount (used for t-case mount) at a local speed shop, mine is made by Energy Suspensions

All or nothing.

I found the OEM rubber replacement for $16 at Advance, I'll probably just use that.

Come down on the 25th and you can see it in person. :icon_cheers:

Holy shit. Man I'm outta the loop lol. Yeah I'll come out if I'm not working. I'm in the process of finding a new job so hopefully I won't have to work saturdays anymore.

what kind of paint did u use on the frame and axle? just regular primer and gloss enamel or is it something specific?
