Bug body + Bronco II frame

Yeah it'll probably be around Tahuya a bit. We'll post up on the Network when it hits the trail.

ok, got her centered and leveled, i got one floor crossmember in and started a 2nd, time to go finish up that one and another...should be bolted on tomorrow

We haven't been doin much work to it, we've been doing 'real' work. A friend started filling in the holes below the windows for the trim, and some of the floor framing is in. We still need to get some sheet metal for the floor though. We're gonna pick up some 32x11.5 BFG M/Ts, some aluminum for the custom dash, and some XJ springs for the front.

defidently dont use the TTB springs. that yellow BroncoBug has them and it rides like a freakin brick.

That's good to know. As soon as the body was off the frame, we saw the positive camber and knew something needed to change. If we want we could pick up some TJ springs too, apparently they are softer than even the XJ springs, but that might be too soft.

depends who they are from, most jeep places springs are the same for the XJ and TJ

another thing is the interior, which one are you going to use?

The yellow bug has the Bronco dash cut down in it. He then used the seats front and rear out of a eclipse. The 4 seats fit really good.

We'll make a custom one. A custom dash i think, we'll have to move the seats back a bit since we have to move the pedals back from the stock bug location because the engine is there. We'll have a rear seat, lower than stock location so there will be plenty of headroom. We may use the bronco speedo, Im not sure. We'll decide when we get there.

Both sets of springs are stock, not aftermarket. We'll grab the TJ coils if we can get them for free, otherwise I think we'll just stick with the XJ ones, because we don't want to go too soft.

We've been working on it when we get the chance which has been rare recently. We picked up a set of Cherokee Sport coils that were much longer than stock. They lifted the front a couple inches so we cut one full coil off each spring and it sits pretty good now and is MUCH softer. We need longer shocks on the front now though. Out back we pulled apart the leaf packs and removed the tiny bottom leaf and the 3rd leaf from the top so now the packs have 3 leafs each. We also put in 1" blocks since it had none, and got a slight lift from those and it too is much softer. We are preparing to pull the tranny and replace the clutch, fab up the floor/firewall, and put the body back on the frame. We also picked up some Mitsu seats from the junkyard for it.

you removed the overload? not the best Idea unless you are going to replace it with something, you can cause the springs to crack and the perch doing this.

That's the overload? It didn't look like one to me... It was just a little tiny spring about 12" and just as thin as all the others.
