Budget Build

yo man, u never did get back to me on the wheel base of that truck before u stripped it down
i could really use the shifter linkage and driveshafts if they woudl work

Well we got the 9" off of the frame. We moved the perches in and welded them. I picked up a shackle kit that I'm going to use, but it has to be modified because I don't think they are strong enough as is. I just picked up new bushings and u bolts. I'm hoping to have the rear in tomorrow.

Are you using your leafsprings from the ranger or the f-150 springs

The springs from the Ranger (which I think are Exploder leaves) with a 4" drop shackle and a 2" block. It should give it a slight rake down to the front.

alright.... looks good now come back to MI an put my transmission back in... im too lazy to do it... haha...

Well, I got the new shackles made. The 9" is finally in.

I sold my 35" A/T's. So I'm gonna have to do something about tires. I found brand new 40"x17" Ground Hawgs on 15x12 Wagon wheels for $1000. I really only want 38s and I don't want to spend a grand on tires, but they seem worth it. I'll have to see. The guy also has a set of fairly new 42" Super Swampers on alloy wheels for $1200. I'm leaning towards the Ground Hawgs but the price is holding me back.

that so sweet, i want to do the same thing and with the gas prices why would you want to go with bigger tires.... just kidden i like it

What lepp1892 said. It's a trail only truck. There's no way I'd ever get that thing inspected in PA to get it on the road. The red Dodge in the pictures is my DD/Tow rig.
