Bucket Seats

Pick-A-Part down here sells ANY seat (leather or fabric or vinyl or wore-slap-out) for $50 each. I put high-back Ford van seats in the '36.....they recline just right (with that exta 14" on the xtra-cab...I'm only 5'8"...so I set the seat sliders to fit my legs before I bolted them to the floorboard .......the '36 cab is so narrow that I had room for only a center arm rest....good thing my wife is the only person who uses it or ther would be a territory battle :headbang: )

I had to fab two adapter bars per seat to bolt to the bottom of each seat....then I bolted the sliders to the adapters....then I shimmed under the sliders with fender washers to keep the seats from rocking....worked out greatttttt!

I like my mustang buckets...they are small enough to not take up all the cab space, but are really made for the little folks...that's any one under 6 feet and 200+ lbs. in my book, but then I'm a certified BOB (Big 'Ol Boy) marred by many scars of living in a too-small, designed by midgets world.

I wish junkyards around here sold seats that cheap doorgunner.

I went to the local BIG junkyard that has a bunch of cars since the local little ones dont have anything new or in good condition in them. I found a nice set of leather buckets in an explorer sport and I was quoted 200 bucks a piece. I looked at the guy with the "ARe you serious" look, and he said "Yeah seats here range from 150-300 a piece. So any good condition leather seat there would be AT LEAST 150 bucks. Needless to say I have been cruising craigslist. But haven't found much.

Hey don't feel bad. My local yard said they would only give me $150 for my Bronco 2. They also want $75 for a damn wheel. I was like WTF, and hell no I won't take $150 scrap for my B2, the wheels are worth $75 each you just said that was your price for a wheel. Some of these junk yards are nothing but thieves. I have to drive 40 miles to the nearest yard because the one that's actually in the town I live in is the one that loves to rip you off. Of course by the time I get off work and would drive to that other yard they would be closed :bawling:.
