bronco 2 vs toyota truck

It may have been built here..... but not with our steel.

Stop defending toilet odors.. There JUNK. I have only seen ONE solid T YO A in my life. It only has Three hundred and Thirty miles on it and it is a training program vehicle.

I cannot wait to see in about two years when all those Tundras start rotting out.

Beside, those E-brake lines SCARE ME it looks ike a weak system...

BE AMERICAN BUY AMERICAN

the Tacoma's have the same American content as our Rangers for many years. and now built in America. Tundras are over 80% American content.

Read it an weep, the Tacoma has a same or higher USA made content than your Ford Ranger.

It depends what part of the country you live in. Around here there are a TON of Toyota crawlers.... but almost all of them have either a flatbed, no box at all, or major cutting done to get rid of the rust. Seems like the cab and front clip seem to escape the rust, but the frame and box do not.

FWIW, you can buy replacement Toyota pickup frames.

IIRC the bed wasnt made in japan, they were made in one of two places. US and tawian.

I picked up my ranger 4wd for 1300 bucks. Rebuilt the front end, new pulleys here and there, a thermostat and some elbow grease later, I have about 1750-1800 bucks in it using used parts and have one hell of a truck. Even picked up a used safari push bar with lights for 40 bucks. Deals are out there, and rangers/Bronco's are cheap to be found in good shape. Not a lick of rust on mine either.

It may have been built here..... but not with our steel. Its like Mahindra tractors proudly ASSEMBLED in america. Cheap Yangdong engine from china..

[70-84% US content depending on the year] yes in cheap parts.... No Motor or body panels made here. only switches and other minor parts

My tundras motor was MADE and ASSEMBLED in Texas. The rest of the truck is from Indiana. I dont understand why people get all up in arms about imports having problems. No manufacturer EVER is with out problems and recalls. Your Golden US companies have just as many problems across their models as any other company. I had an 05 ranger have the clutch and flywheel blow up. OMG ford is crap, something broke. :bawling:

No company is perfect, and if there was a perfect company it sure as hell isnt your beloved ford, neither would it be toyota.

I do see alot of toyotas out playing in the mud and what not.....

but 99% of them have Chevy Drivetrains.

Yes Toyotas might have issues with frames but the running gear is tough to beat. (except the 3.0 V6)

maybe your experience is different but to me it seems easier to SAS a Bronco II than it is to un-rot a Toyota frame.

you guys are missing the point. Whether or not the steel in the Toyota frame is American is not the relevant issue.

The issue is that the steel was alloyed with margarine and swamp mud prior to manufacturing. Or their paint process was inferior to that of other manufacturers, allowing moisture to get to the frame and rot it out.

Like I said, easier to do a SAS than a frame swap...which would be pointless anyway 'cause you'd just end up with another frame rusting out from underneath you.

I actually had a 1980 Toyota that I sold when I bought my Bronco II.On the plus side the Toyota was very reliable, got good mileage and the 4 cyl had a suprising amount of power. On the minus you never saw one at the wreckers so you always had to buy parts new,the body and frame had numerous hidden areas where debris would collect causing rust issues and had a very poor heater. My Bronco II is cheaper to maintain, easier to find parts for, seems better designed to combat rust and is the only vehicle I have owned that I had to turn down the heater at -30 because I was getting too hot.

It has more to do with the frames being full boxed as they capture water.

Late 80's toyota? If you're gonna get a toy... get one with a solid front axle... I'd much prefer a pre 85 toy to any ranger as a starting point any day. Great trucks. Oh how I hate them, but they're great trucks.

well that works too. Still something that probably sounded good on paper and totally did not work out.

We'll see what happens with the current run of trucks as they get older, now that everybody is doing fully boxed frames. Haven't heard anything yet but it may be too early.

I like toyota actually, I'm not saying I'd drive one, or own one, but I like them. Toyota > any Japanese import for me. Muscle cars rot out if they even see salt or alot of water, but I don't run around saying that the 2010 mustang is junk because a car they used to make rots at at the first sign of precipitation. Both will serve you well, but the ranger has a good reputation for not giving up

There are many more hardcore wheelers using Toyotas than any other brand that is because they are very well built and durable.

HAHAHAHA are you retarded? ever heard of a JEEP? no need to get a hard on for the jap crap buddy...

anyways get the B2 you'll have the benefit of parts interchangeability between that and your other ranger. and the 22r isnt that big of a deal ive wheeled with many people who own then and a lima 2.3 is equal or better stock and has wayyy more potential. and toyota birfield joints suck ass...

So does a D28 and 7.5, whats your point (i realize not all B2's came with the 28 but MAJORITY did). Give bobby long a call and your birf problems are gone.
