bronco 2 vs toyota truck

If the thing might see any kind of abuse at all go with the BII. Jap vehicles hold up fine as long as they never see anything rougher then a 300lb load or a light gravel road.

Why not do the best of both worlds and just get a 4x4 Ranger?

Right, that must be why my dad's Nissan hard body doesn't squat at all with a 600lb tank of water in the back. My F150 would be on it's bump stops.

Guess I should take a pic of a truck in town here... mid 60's 3/4 ton Chevy with a frame bent so bad in the middle that the cab is touching the box. Yep, that old stuff held up real good.

you never have owned a Toyota have you. I grew up with Toyotas and Rangers ............ show me a 3/4 ton and a 1 ton Ranger (not the F-X50 option package).

even on our 1/2 ton Toyota we put loads on it that would make an F-100 cry let alone a Ranger.....

Its not fair to compare a "1 ton" toyota to a Ranger. If you put that many leaf springs and Dually rear axle under a ranger it would handle just as much (if not more) mainly because toyota thought the 22R was rnough for a 1 ton.

Compare a 1 ton yota to a F350 of any vintage and see how the yota does.

As far as the 60's chevy? Are you sure its not rotted cab mounts? If the frame is bent theres no telling the abuse, or accident, or whatever that truck may of been in.

If you F150 was on the bumpstops with 600lbs something is seriously wrong.

Toyota is the truck that all others are measured by. There are many more hardcore wheelers using Toyotas than any other brand that is because they are very well built and durable. 300,000 miles on a Toyota 4 cylinder Toyota truck is common place. As for the 3 yotas that fell apart in the Parking lot at your school I call total BS

You can't buy enough toyota here for that money to make it work.My biggest bitch about old toyota's no power poor mileage.the $4000 market has some pretty good toyota trucks but not in the 2's.

If you are not aware those Tacoma's are the buyback program and just so happens they are built here in the good ol USA,[70-84% US content depending on the year] that explains the lack of current quality. Ill stand by my statements of the 70-80-90's imports they where rock solid if maintained.

It depends what part of the country you live in. Around here there are a TON of Toyota crawlers.... but almost all of them have either a flatbed, no box at all, or major cutting done to get rid of the rust. Seems like the cab and front clip seem to escape the rust, but the frame and box do not.

FWIW, you can buy replacement Toyota pickup frames.

Find a rust or semi rust free yota. It will blow a B2 out of the water in everything but power. The aftermarket for them is huge.

steel is steel. this is a design problem. i saw a toyota crack in a shop when i was getting a inspection back in the 90s. if this was because it was one "built in america" then rangers would be known for frames cracking. how ever frames are not a problem spot for rangers.

It may have been built here..... but not with our steel. Its like Mahindra tractors proudly ASSEMBLED in america. Cheap Yangdong engine from china..

[70-84% US content depending on the year] yes in cheap parts.... No Motor or body panels made here. only switches and other minor parts

Stop defending toilet odors.. There JUNK. I have only seen ONE solid T YO A in my life. It only has Three hundred and Thirty miles on it and it is a training program vehicle.

I cannot wait to see in about two years when all those Tundras start rotting out.

Beside, those E-brake lines SCARE ME it looks ike a weak system...

My sons 84 Ranger was cracked just behind the bed and needed repaired. We welded 2, 1/4" steel plates to gusset it behind the cab. Yes Toyotas might have issues with frames but the running gear is tough to beat. (except the 3.0 V6)
