Broken front leaf spring mount

Those eye bolts can be a nightmare. I'm planning to sidestep the issue when I lift the rear even though mine should be fine. I dipped them in anti-seize when I changed them last...
Hopefully it wasn’t the silver kind… I swear that fights almost as hard as rust…

Got my truck back from the welder today. They replaced both front leaf spring mounts, the bushings and U-bolts for a little less than $600 total. I know some of you could have done this job yourself but like I said - I don’t have the tools or skills to tackle something like this so it seemed like a very reasonable price to me.

They also did an inspection of the entire frame and told me it was “solid”. While I was paying a guy who works there actually offered to buy it. Said it was in a lot better shape than his Ranger.

Here are pics of the new hangars plus one of the whole truck.

The mismatched hardware is slightly odd IMO, but it's fine. Tight and not rusty is literally all that matters. Maybe one mount came with hardware and the other didn't?

Looks good.

Considering the trouble I had with mine, I'd have probably paid that to get it done too. LOL

man, i would just get cheapo throw away vehicles if i had to deal with the rust you guys deal with up north. that sucks.

The problem with that is the cheapo throw-away vehicles you find around here are rusted apart and if it’s any sort of solid around here they think it’s gold plated, especially since Covid…
