Brake Light Problem

Anyone out there got some good advice on what I need to do to get my brake lights working right. I already bought a used turn signal switch from a junk yard but it still flickers when I jiggle the lever. I have until Monday to cancel an order for a brand new turn signal switch. I just don't want to buy it for nothing again.
