I was reading something earlier about going back to ohv engines as early as next year. Very exciting.

Ive thought for a while its a niche that needs to be filled. Not everyone wants the headaches of a post emission diesel to be able to tow heavy.

Agreed.

Probably having a hard time getting flatheads to pass emissions.

By the time this comes down in price so I can afford it, it will be 2035. I'll be 71, hope my body keeps up.

Im hoping they tank in resale like 460/V10 trucks.

If thats the case you should he able to get a 5-7 yr old one pretty reasonable.

What would be real nice is if they kept a below 3500 RPM 460ish powerband that you didnt have to scream all the time like all the 6 liter range engines. If they do this right i could see the HD truck market shifting rather quickly away from diesel for the weekend warrior types, and anyone who isnt doing hotshot work.

Now if only we could get our 3rd pedal back on the floor.

Ok smartarse.....pushrods....that better?

:thefinger:

Cause technically youre right, any engine is OHV unless its flathead regardless of cam placement.

Its still there, nobody uses the parking brake since they did away with manual transmissions though. :icon_twisted:

Damn son youre on a roll.

Actually though, my wife uses her parking brake with an automatic. No idea why.

I dont use them even with a manual. This is why i carry a 1.5 ft 4x4 piece of wood in the ranger bed.

Why wouldn't you use it?

Why wouldn't you use it?

Because nobody has probably ever used it.

Growing up with old trucks we were told to leave it in first or reverse depending on how the truck was sitting and do not even look at the parking brake because it will probably stick on.

I understand that during the winter, but that's stupid IMHO any other time of the year.

Same here I have never used my parking brake on any manuals I owned. I always left it in 1st or reverse. if you leave it in 3rd and on a slope it'll be about 15 ft forwards or backwards when you get back just fyi
