Hey there,
I bought a 2003 Ranger. Buddy told me it was an FX4, but I'm not entirely sure anymore. I've been trying to figure it out for awhile now. What makes things a bit more difficult is that he had crashed the truck and rebuilt it so I don't even think the drivers doors are the original ones, therefor the vin sticker could possible be wrong. According to the VIN the truck weights 5001-6000 pounds. It is a 4.0L V6, EFI SOHC 5 speed automatic. Axel code 97. Wheel Base Code 126. It currently Has the wrong mirrors on it, just ordered new ones as they are suppose to be power mirrors, it has the buttons for them. Can someone please help me?

At first look no, but something is odd about that...

Maybe that weight is gross vehicle weight which includes load capacity.

The basic 2003 FX4 is not a Level II model. There are some standard upgrades but I don't think they stand out that much. Hopefully, someone that owns a FX4 can help with that.

Yeah I meant to put gross vehicle weight... That was my fault. Its has skid plates. All the vins match. The Problem with decode this, is that they ask for my trim... which is what I don't have the sweetest clue for. Although everything seems to match up with the FX4 off road besides the grill, mirrors (which I knew weren't right, because they aren't power but the buttons are there for power mirrors) and the back window.

I am pretty sure the trim for a FX4 is XLT.

As am I, but these where the options it was giving me.Screen Shot 2015-02-10 at 6.17.08 PM.png

I ran the VIN it's an FX4. There has been a few things replaced due to the crash the grill being one of them.
