bike guys

verefer thanks you are a big help and i dont have her yet gonna see if he will take a down payment on her and it will do 149 when i have her finished as i wanna build her up and make a bobber that has speed but at that point i dont think its considered an ascot haha, and tha pilot activ is what im gonna look into getting does it handle good in a high speed corner as in 90-100 goin down s hills cause i know of alot of places in arizona for some nice cruising up in the hills that are really curvy

Hate to disappoint you but you will be hard pressed to get 100 MPH out that Ascot or most 500 cc bikes even downhill with a tail wind. Dude kind of sounds likeyou have a death wish the way you go on.

panama actually the ascot can hit 109 then 132 is max but is gonna need a jet pullin it lol and no i dont have a death with lol also when i chop it and make it a bobber im droppin the 750 version in and its gonna be a built 750 but thats not till way down the road

132 mph may be the "theoretical" top speed at redline in top gear, but the difficulty is actually getting it to pull that gear at that speed.

You need a lot of horsepower to pull that gearing, which the 500 does not have.
115 is about the real world max.

Anyhow, it's all a moot point anyhow. My bike can hit about 153-155 but I haven't seen that speed in over 5 or 6 years now. After 100 MPH, it's just numbers, and it isn't really fun worrying about when that deer is gonna come streaking out of the bush.

Also, the straights are just the boring bits that connect the corners.

I prefer to ride "The Pace" nowadays. It's a lot more fun than speeding on every straight, then slowing drastically for every corner. Challenges you to hone your skills more too.

I haven't been over 145 on a bike since one spring day in 1992 going west on I-70 between Springfield and Dayton. The old GS-1100 developed some serious head shake and I had to back her down.
Worst crack up was when I hit a stopped Dodge pickup at about 70 MPH on my Shadow VLX. That would have been in 1994 when I was in Jamaica. Still have a blue road tat above my right eye where my forehead connected with the part right above the tail light on the truck. Funny how automotive paint sticks with you all those years. Also have lots of road rash spots and scars from hitting the pavement in a few good accidents.
Strange how I always preferred dirt riding... Trees don't pull out in front of you.

So 509 I know you are young but dude... Don't die early by pushing a machine past it's limits and getting it into a situation you can't get out of.

This comes from a guy that has made it to 52 years of age and has been riding since I was 6. I learned to ride on a Hodaka 90 that I had to lean up against a wall, start it by using both feet to jump on the kicker and to stop hitting the brakes and falling over. The bike was that much too big.

yea vefer i love the corners and always have i am one that likes corners at more than the speed limit and always have and the fastest i have gone was 145 on my ex gfs dads 2007 1300 busa and that was pretty scary but i just love speed haha and panama if and when i do go that fast will be full protection closed track and dampiners in place as im not wanting to risk killing someone other than myself if i do end up crashing that is the last thing i want to crash and kill someone else and live to have to think about it the rest of my life.
