BIITR, 1 tons and 38x20 v-bars

Well I guess im just a dumb ****.

Im done with this bull shit.

Later.

There are a few things that I would do differently, but I still like it and I'd still mob it on the trail :icon_thumby:

I've seen way sketchier trucks work and not break so I don't doubt this one does the job.

todd has 32 threads that i can find all of which are helpful. and actually show how to do the things he's doing. dirtraider has 3 one showing off a dove tail but not showing how he did it two asking a questions. so as far as im concernd id rather fo ask todd on how to do somthing.

Todd,

Who cares if everyone doesn't like your build. There will always be someone who would do it differently.

It's a trail truck. You've pointed that out. You know the blocks would be a concern, and we know you wouldn't put blocks in the front of a rig driven on the road.

I for one like your build. You built it. You wheeled it. It works. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece in metal. Hell, I'd do a feature on it.

Oh, and it's not just you. Jim Allen did a write up of 351Ranger's Ranger for Offroad Adventures Magazine a few years back. Someone wrote in and complained because the steering linkage didn't have castle nuts on it. I looked at the pics. I don't know how anyone could even see that. Point is, no matter how nice you tried to build something, someone would find fault with it.

I agree with this. Hell, my oldest version of my truck was almost as bad so I dont have alot of room to talk because as Jim just said. someone will always bring it up, and im sure people would find stuff wrong with even my newest version of my B2.

Ive been on this website a LONG time... ALMOST from the very start, so I've seen your truck from the very beginning as well.

Although I agree with alot of what dirtraider said, I also agree with the other side of it as "its a trail truck". Now heres my thing on that... I hate being on trails with trucks that "look" like yours (yes mine was at one point) for one main reason.. not because its ugly, I dont care... its not my truck, rather, alot of times those trucks are prone to breaking and holding up the fun and stuff for stupid things that should of been fixed at home. With that said... If your truck isnt having issues with all the Bootyfab on the trail... Then f-it... run it, who gives a shit.

how is anything i'm saying bullshit? I'm ragging on your for not doing as good work as everybody knows your capable of, if thats so bad tell me to F off then :icon_confused:

3 of the people who just posted compared it to something "worse" or "sketchier" or "trying" to build it nice, thats a backhanded compliment if you ask me. I think the stance looks gangster, thats not my point. My point is if you are going to build something that you KNOW you are going to beat the piss out of, why not spend a little extra time and not build KNOWN weak links into the truck? thats just asking for problems at the worst time.

Todd don't get all bent out of shape about it. Ned's just jealous he can't have a cool rig like that. BTW Military Goodyears bring the "GAY"

Having D60's makes you and internet Badass, Ham it up.

Say what you want about me, at least i didn't go post his truck in a "crappy fab" thread on another board, good way to stand behind him :icon_thumby:

p.s. i don't have goodyears anymore get with the program :thefinger:

I feel like a total jackass when im missing a washer or have a bad weld, much less a complete death ride.....

So now OCD is a requirement to be an enthusiast?

3 of the people who just posted compared it to something "worse"

Other than those three, Ive read about 20 other posts that sounded envious. I have no welding ability and the ranger I did have (keeping in mind that Ive been doing my own mechanical work for 13 years) I had a hard time to get running right after working on it for 6 mos. This kat has completed more than I have ever dreamed about with a build.

I am thoroughly proud of a guy like this that gets out and gets it done even with (what could be considered) blemishes. He's got more initiative than alot of the guys I read about.

You may have been offering an opinion, but in case you havent noticed, it came across as bashing his skillz and his ride. Its a good thing Im not a mod, I'd ban you for a month.

Way to throw one last stab at him.

You may not have them now, but you did. So you may be cool now but at one point you weren't (based on the post you were responding too.

How bout if you dont agree with his build, all you hada say was... It's not the route I would have went, but good job gettin out there and doing what you can.:icon_welder:

How can you even say that? There is nothing that consists as "nice work" on this thing. He's got ****ed up shackles, steering, front blocks, rear stacked blocks, etc etc etc

Anybody can make shit that "works" but having PRIDE in your work is something different. I feel like a total jackass when im missing a washer or have a bad weld, much less a complete death ride.....

you sir, suck. he built it for his wheeling, im sure if he didnt feel confident building it that way he wouldnt of done it

seriously....r u guys newbs to the site??? Todd wheels in shit most of you would never dream of going through. I have also followed this build since it had a bII body, and actually go to Todd for advice when i need it. I mean damn, take a look in the tech library and see how much Todd has contributed to this site. All you guys are hating on him but I know for a fact that the BII typeR is one of the most capable trail rigs on this site just from the pics and vids he has posted over the last 4 years. His rig hasnt seen pavement in the last 2 yrs atleast that I know of, so how you gonna call it a "death ride"? I would love to be a spotter in his rig..(as long as he isnt driving through 3 ft deep creeks in january again, god those pics made me so cold when i seen them). If any of you really paid attention to this build, you would never doubt his fab skills...period.

Todd....as usuall your new upgrades are sik!! I love your rig, forget the haters...we know who's rig will hold up...let them doubt you...shit..let'em come up to the U.P. and show them what's up.
:headbang::headbang::headbang:

well said buddy

It's a trail rig, And uses it for whats it's built for. It's not a show truck, he built it to point and go, where he want's to go. Well done.

It looks like one tuff mother F******* So he used a couple different idea's then other would do, but i have seen those $3,000 dollar lift kits break. in the middle of a trail and hold up things, And i am sure he will make additions and improvments as time and money allow's, He did post that it is up and running down the trail ( DID NOT ) see the word finished!!

F'n christ this site is a lost cause

Todd I think you know what I'm getting at, if I ever make it out to vist my friend Michigan (your from there if memory serves me), i'll buy you a

It's horrible that such an awesome site loses rep because of the opinions of a few,(on both sides). However if difference of opinion and standing up for another member when neccesary causes one to blame the site and go ones own way, maybe we're better off.

Dirtraider, its not your opinion that I was responding too, it is the way you presented it.

F'n christ this site is a lost cause

You have only a few post compared to some of the experienced techs that were refuting you. Perhaps, you havent been around long enough to experience the more positive sides of the site. Give it some more time. They will all be defending you one day.

and its NEVER ok to stack blocks, weld shackles, etc, you stand down trail from him one one of those things breaks and he comes rolling down at you...i have a truck that will go anywhere his will, but i'll drive it there first.

Dude, cut the BS. We both know his blocks are not going to fail, with a 2.9L powering the truck. You shouldn't be standing in a vulnerable spot during a hill climb as ANY truck can experience a failure and roll back, stacked blocks or no blocks.

I'm sure your truck is capable, but that's not what this discussion is about, so why are you talking about it? We're talking about your attacks on people who complimented Todd's work. Most people here know you're way off base. We just want to hear it from you.

It's horrible that such an awesome site loses rep because of the opinions of a few,(on both sides)..

so do shady built trucks that are supported so widely, i just dont care enough to bash a person or say anything negative.

Dirtraider, its not your opinion that I was responding too, it is the way you presented it.

So you were responding to him for not having tact and being politically correct? is it a requirement to be politically correct and have certain tact to be an enthusiast and post on this forum?... But you understood what he was saying and didnt disagree?

You have only a few post compared to some of the experienced techs that were refuting you. Perhaps, you havent been around long enough to experience the more positive sides of the site. Give it some more time. They will all be defending you one day.

I have like what, 100 posts? ive been on this site since 2002. Dirtraider has been around a long time too, long enough for me to know hes a shithead too, so dont think I'm defending him as a individual...

Ive just been watching this thing go for weeks now it seems... everyone is on their own bandwagon. Todd is a cool guy, his truck is shady as hell but I dont care, hell i dont think anyone REALLY does, people just like to talk crap on the internet. The only things I o agree with is the people freaking out with the "omg that thing is so nice" stuff, are you kidding? There is almost nothing nice about that truck, but as todd said himself, its not a show truck, its a wheeling rig:icon_thumby:

I think you people just like to argue:thefinger:
