ive ben looking into options to give my truck a decent amount of horse power gain. i cant do a tuner because im obd1. i was looking at the 1.8:1 roller rockers, the morana cam, or a complete intake and head port and polish. i dont have much money so im trying to keep it under $400. any advise would be great, im getting tired of getting passed by civics.

U/D crank pulley and E-fan are must mods on any 3.0. More power, better fuel economy and a slightly quieter interior at low speeds.

i want to buy the cam from there too and also the ported upper and lower intake manifold... i was wondering what can we do to the transmission??? shift kit or what??? not trying to hijack your thread though

theres to many holes in the u/d pully for me to invest in it right now. what im talking about is more internal engine. what im wanting is to be able to feel a change in my motors performance.
no problem man, i dont know if you have an automatic, but a guy shot me this link a while back and it looks like its worth checking out.

You will honestly feel more of a gain with the U/D pulleys then with a port and polish and it take WAY less time and money then either cams or a rocker swap. Plus you will gain mileage.

its a 3.0l, you would probably get more performance out of riding a donkey! seriously though, under drive pulleys, rocker arms, more agressive cam shaft, porting and polishing, proper gearing for your application, etc are all going to give you a little more go, but its still a 3.0l.

The U/D pulley is impossible to beat as a best bang for the buck modification.

I was thinking maybe Morana's box intake and 1.7 rockers on mine when i rebuild next summer, but now I'm thinking U/D pulley instead of rockers. Which one is better if I've got it apart anyways?

I've also got 4.10s from the factory

I believe the 2.3 uses a E-fan from the factory although I'm not sure how it would be controled.

If you have it apart already then I would go ahead with the Rocker Arms, I figured U/D pulleys because you can change them out in an hour or 2 and still technically have a drivable truck in the mean time.

Yeah I know what you mean. I have done UD pulleys before, although not on an ranger. I imagine that the ranger will be much easier than the RX8.

What brand UD pulleys is everyone using, just for future reference?

I got my crank pulley and belt from Underdog. It takes about a 1/2 hour to swap it out, the pulley can be replaced without removing the fan or shroud.

i know its a 3.0, i just want it to have a little more power without dumping a whole lot of money in it. ive heard good things and bad things about the pullies thats why i figured on a cam or the rockers, how much of a difference do the pulleys truley make? right now im running 235's with 3.45 gears. eventually i want 3.73 or 4.10
