best performance mod

A re-gearing would definitley help your truck FEEL more powerful. It won't add any power though. The underdrive crank pulley has been dyno proven (by the manufaturer) to add 8 hp, and at $200 for the entire 4 piece set, it's a pretty decent bargain. It breaks down to $25 for every hp gained.
The 1.8 roller rockers are supposed to be a very nice upgrade as well. The manufacturer claims hp gains "up to 18hp". When you factor in the $400 cost, it comes out at $22.2/hp gained, which means they're a slightly better deal than the pullies, but they're more expensive up front, and require more work/skill to install.
Both would be nice additions IMO, just depends how much you want to spend, how much you want to gain, and how much work you're willing to do.

I will say, that I love my pullies, and e-fan conversion. They made my 3.0 much more responsive. Plus, they were an easy, bolt-on mod that was done in an afternoon. I'd start there.

Has anyone done the Morana box intake? after looking at it for a while it seems like I would have to redo the entire intake since it seems to be set up for a tranverse motor.

I was talking to Tom about doing the box intake, but then I bought my whipple. Everything above the upper intake has to be replaced, so you'd need his box intake, intake tubing (I think he recommended a Lincoln Mark VIII part), and a larger MAF (again, I think he suggested using Mark VIII stuff). The throttle body is from a 4.6, so you might be able to source the necessary parts from any 4.6 equipped vehicle, but that would be your responsibility. After all of that, you'd need a retune too.

wow thats kind of a big deal... sounds like it would be better bang for the buck to go for the upgraded 2 piece intake, with the 60mm TB.

definitely sounds like i'm selling my superchips and getting an SCT though so I can change everything.

What type of e fan did you use? I seem to remember in the past reading that there is one that is a straight bolt in, out of a taurus maybe? And what are you using to control when it turns on and off?

Really, it's not that bad. You replace your airbox, MAF, intake tube, throttle body, and upper intake. There is more to it than what's on Morana's website though. You'd probably spend $1200-$1300 to get everything up and running with a tune. You'd see WAY bigger gains with the box intake compared to the two piece unit, but it's up to you.

My e-fan came from a duratec 4cyl. ranger. Those trucks had them from the factory. The 4cyl and v6 rangers all shared the same radiator, so it's as bolt on as it gets. The only modding I had to do was trim the shroud a little to clear the accessories.
I'm controlling mine with a stand-alone adjustable temp sensor that I got from NAPA. It's got a temp probe that fits through the radiator, and when it reaches the temp that I've selected, the fan kicks on and runs until the temp drops. Most of the time, it doesn't come on at all.

Yeah. I guess its more than twice the price for more than twice the horsepower gains... Still got time to decide, probably depend on how much money i have

the parts bin.com shows a add on for OBD1. "adds up to 25 additional ponies" for
$23x.xx made by JET or for 265.00 one from hypertech. and a buddy told he found one online that is supposed to be a fully programmable tuner for just shy of 600.00 sold i think he said San Antonio...not sure of location other than in Texas.
