I see alot of people posting pics of good welds so heres the challenge, Take 2 peices of 3/16" x 2" x 6" flat bar and make one peice 3/16" x 4" x 6" and post a picture of your best weld, tell us what kind of machine you used, and any other information you you think is relevent. Don't post pictures of random welds on your truck, there are other places here for that, this is a contest purely for bragging rights the deadline is May 15, lets see what you got, whos up to the challenge.

Please only post your enteries, any comments can be made after the deadline. Depending on how many pics are posted it might have to be broken down into best MIG, best TIG, best Stick catagories.

Best of luck

anybody can make a pretty weld...its when you start getting into bend test's when a real weld can be identified

Yes, it should really be a T joint welded then broken to actually see a good weld..not just aesthetics.

Why can't we just weld 2 pieces of scrap any size? I've got scrap 3/16 stainless laying around I could weld, but I ain't got time to play around.

the reason I picked the size of steel is its easy to google pictures of weld and post them, I could easily tell you I made these welds but really im not that good, and yes to weld a T and break it would be a better show of a good weld but how many people are gonna do that?

I'll play the game tho, will have to go out to the shop after dinner and do er up.

Here is mine...I didn't have any flat stock kicking around, so here are 2 chunks of square tube welded together.

Lincoln MigPak 180 220v machine with Ar/Co2 mix gas. 0.023 wire.

That's sure some purdy weldin. Now, I know that oxy acetylene wasn't mentioned... but if you could do that with gas... I would be truly impressed!

Just yanking your chain Sasquatch... But I believe that is some nice stitch work there! :icon_thumby: I'm kinda jealous here... best I can do looks like a first year apprentice did it.

If I could do that with gas welding I would be impressed as well lol!

I used to be good at gas welding, but the last time I did that was over 6 years ago.

Now I gotta participate!
:D :D

Once I get to work, I'll show you why I get paid the big bucks!:icon_rofl:
