im lookin to get a bender to fab up some bumpers and some other things here in a month or so... just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with this bender?

it may be out of the question but i suggest you step up to a decent TUBE bender

that bender is made for pipe which runs everything in ID, plus if you put much of bend in it it will crush and crinkle the pipe

here is the bender i just bought...$804 to my door with 2 sets of die's take $155 off with a single 1.5 die

its a jd2 model 3

i agree, dont waste your money on the harbor frieght, if you look in the bumper section, i have a picture of my rear bumper, which is sched 40 1 1/2" pipe, it bends alright but crushes the pipe and makes intricate bending very difficult. also look at benders that have mechanical help, just incase you use some heavy material, otherwise you will just pull the bender out of the floor when trying to bend stuff, word of experience

thats about all i needed to hear to talk me out of that one! I deff, dont want any ugly bends or crushed spots. but i cant spend 800 bucks on a bender right now either. anyother suggestions?

The suckage on that bender is well beyond the maximum allowed by law!

if it were less than a 5 hour drive i would concider it. but dang thats a haul

I've used one of those benders before and they're not great that's why i bought the same Jd2 model 3 that someone else pictured, which I definatly recommend. However if you plan on simple bends (less than 90*) it will do OK the bends kind of stretch the tubing so the corners shrink just a little and flatten on the inside a bit, but depending on how much your doing and budget you can make decent stuff with that bender it's just a learning process.
