I replaced the belt on my 94 not too long ago because the one on there was missing a rib and not looking too healthy. A few weeks later I checked under the hood and the inside rib come off the new belt as well. The truck runs fine with no complaints but I was wondering what the problem might be and if anyone else has had this problem.

could be a pulley, is the belt dried out? sometimes a bad bearing in a pulley will burn out the belts. also ford had a service bullitin on pulleys for 3.0L fords, but i think that was just for a squeel. could also be bad pulley alignment.

belt was not dried out,
but the pulleys could be the problem.
Seems that something is out of alignment though, I'll get it looked at soon.
