Hello! So i’ve purchased a 1999 ford Ranger XLT automatic v6 (3.0l?); and I was wonder if anyone had advice on where to get car parts. I want to make my truck looks as square/boxy as possible (like a 90s nissian, or 95 ford ranger, or 90s gmc). I know i will have to either find a good fender/hood, force/work to make it compatiable/fit; or weld a custom part. My skills are very very low; but I am determined to learn anything or try anything new to make my truck look boxy as possible. I will check this post daily to clarify anything; and to make updates (hopefully on new installments) of my progress! :D

Hey E-Bag, welcome to TRS, and good luck with your 1999 :) Don't flip it or you'll have a 1666 ;)

If you have trouble finding parts, try one of these:

Welcome to TRS!
And good luck with your project. It will be very interesting to see the progress.

My advice?

Sell the 99 and buy a 83-92. Body swaps are difficult espicially when youre trying to do something like that.

Not trying to discourage you....but being a newbie youre liable to get in over your head and get frusterated and end up having to buy another truck anyways because you tore yours up.

I second this. The gen 1 and gen 2 bodies were the squared style. Much easier to work those into what you vision seems to be. I think Rusty has one sitting in a field. Might need to sanding and painting.

a 95 is a jelly bean thing like you have now. at one point in time there were conversion kits to use a later cab with the square style front like you want to do...its been years since i have seen those..

the reason for that...raptors happened. most people would rather have the raptor look.
and core supports and lighting for later trucks is much easier to come buy.

converting a square body to the later style is much easier then what you want to do because of that.

if you are planning to modify the suspension and widen the track .... then fitting some glass square body stuff should get you where you want to be.
