Been searching for days, trying to see what is needed. Found threads where my question is asked, but never answered.

When doing a swap from a 4.0 OHV to 2001 SOHC, can I reuse the OHV fuel pump? Truck has a SOHC ecu and is also running a Bronco ii tank.

Yes they use they use fuel pump... A better question is are you using the return style fuel system or the returnless? That would make a bigger difference.

The OHV fuel pump is capable of producing the pressure needed to run the SOHC engine. As sno said, the bigger question is return or returnless.

Returnless. I spent the day getting the SOHC pump to fit. It was a bit of work but it's done.

Then you needed to change over to the returnless pump assembly anyway... It has the regulator built in.

Yeah I figured as much. It would be so much easier without the big evap cylinder valve thing on the top cap of the new pump, but I got it to work

This is what I started with

This is what I ended up with. I'm not worried about the brass fittings or the hose clamps, they're for the pressure regulator.

The float is not installed in this pic, to get the assembly in to the tank I had to squeeze the pump and fuel level sender in then fish the float in to the tank and clip it in. I have small hands, but it was still a monumental pain in my ass.

Side by side. I essentially cut the support legs out of the plastic cap of the SOHC pump and my old coworker TIG'd them to the top cap of the pump that will fit the tank. I drilled a hole where part of the old wiring plug was and made the plug for the SOHC wiring fit and sealed it. The red evap (??) canister attached to the top cap was removed and reinstalled in the top center of the tank where the stock Bii vent was.

All in all, I would rather eat my own hair instead of do this again.
