What engine is this going behind? Which gear ratio will best suit the tires? Or vice-versa.

2.3/5spd with 3.45 gears. Factory tires were 225/70r14 (26.4”) on 14x6 deer track alloys.

I have a set of 1992 take off Outlaw 2 clones in… 14x6.
I have a set of steelies of a 78 Ramcharger, 15x6, fit perfectly.
I have a set of take off 15x7 L’il Red Express wheels. But those need at least a 235/75. Either 1.1” shorter or 1.3” taller than stock. I “could” run the supposedly direct crossover 225/60r15…

With a 2.3 and 3.45 gears, I'd go ahead with the smaller tires. My 92 2.3 with 3.73s and stock 14" tires was just ok. I mean it had enough torque to spin on demand, but barely.

I “could” run the supposedly direct crossover 225/60r15…

But only finding as a 96 H, T or V SL rating. My Super Beetle has 98s…

Not going to pay a premium for lower ratings.

I would go with the shorter 25.3 tires. The 2.3 doesn't have a lot of torque, but will rev happily.
