Are you going to stick with stock halogen bulbs, or try LED or HID replacements?

I'm trying to stay with stock bulbs, and I used this plug-in relay kit off eBay:
relay kit
I'm happy with it, so far.
That's a reasonable price... couldn't build it for that.

Is it plug and play?

It was.

I've been meaning to make this mod on my trucks, and I looked at everything that was available.

This one had good specs, and installation was "no issue" (easy as hell, actually); the wiring length and connector quality met my expectations.

The pluses were, ceramic headlight sockets, and the plastics of the other connectors was good. Harness is fully protected, with vinyl sleeve or split loom. They used good copper wire with decent gauge, and connector gaskets were present on all connectors. Terminal crimping was very good, and the standard relays, externally looked to be decent quality.

The only complaint I have, is the fuses are a type that I'm not familiar with (I would have preferred Maxi fuses), but if these kits prove themselves over time (I ordered three, for three of my trucks), I'll hardwire them to the underhood fuse boxes and fuse them that way, with an unused OEM slot.

The seller looks to be a substantial mover of Chinese-made lighting products (my order was shipped from CA, with excellent service). Plus, they've sent me discount codes for more purchases. I'm planning on ordering LED bulbs from them, to change all of my interior lighting over to LED to help with the door-open current drain on the batteries of my trucks.

I have nothing against off-shore manufacturing, if no corners are cut. I'm very satisfied with this purchase, and I'm very happy with the cost. I also could not build the harness for what it cost, shipped to my door.

So... real copper wire and not that CCA crap?

The brightest halogens I can get. I’ve tried leds in my K3500, same garbage composite headlights that everyone uses. Not impressed. That truck is getting converted to 1988/89 GLASS quad headlights and a fancy shmancy chrome mesh grille.

I wish Spyder lighting company made glass direct fit for 93+ Rangers. Shelby’s 07 Ranger got expensive new head/tail assemblies at Christmas. Already hazing… 🤬

The ones that I received look to be real copper wire. I look at the cut wire ends; I don't trust printed markings anymore.

If you do pull the trigger, look up the correct harness for your year model's headlight bulb connector.

Those fuses are fine, they're used in some newer stuff, I know Mopar has used them for years

That's cheap enough I should get a few since I have 4 rigs with 9007's...

I do not disagree with any of that, there's a reason "my" vehicles are all '00 model and older... I like OBD II but dislike most of the junk added after about '05 in a lot of vehicles...

Trying to get every truck I’m fixing to late 1970s standard… Carburetor. Coil in cap hei distributor (GM’s sole worthwhile claim to fame). ABS deletion. Manual transmissions -or- C4/C6, 350/400, 727/904. Braided stainless fuel/brake/clutch/transmission & oil cooler lines. All poly bushings. 100% of our fleet.

SAS with manual locking hubs and leaf springs. NP205 t-cases. 35x10 bias ply mudders on 16” steel wheels. 99 K3500 and 69 D100 to W200 conversion.

Mini trucks, 85 C10 swb and 49 Dodge leveled or outright static slammed. Lisa has mobility issues. She doesn’t mind a step stool for the 4wd trucks, but, 2wd can be lowered to suit while also improving their handling. The C10 should settle to between 5/7 and 7/9, rocking cab grab handles AND ol’ skool diamond plate running boards…

With good bulbs and good housings the stock lights should work pretty good.

As bulbs age they lose power. And lenses age, fog and yellow their performance drops off as well.

My all time favorite wheel style… 😭

I had a nice set of 14x6 and 15x8, not polished, actual Ansen Sprints. And a set of 15” Ranger Outlaw 2 clones, before we moved from WA back to TN. Sold them cheap to our neighbor for her father’s hotrods. He died 3 months later. After he flipped the Ansens for several hundred dollars… 😖

I like a fine balance of early fuel injection and OBD II fuel injection just because it thrives on neglect better, you can let a fuel injected vehicle sit for 6 months to 3 years without having do do much of anything but charging a battery instead of cleaning a carburetor...

Don't get me wrong, I do dumb things, I'm one of the very few people that want to swap TO TTB front suspension... My '00 Explorer is going to get a combo D44/D50 TTB up front with a 4 linked 10.25" out back now that I saw a post about putting a BII tank in the back to free up suspension room...
