2016 is off to a not so good start. There was a fire where my stuff is stored and my '68 Torino is burnt to the ground. No one was hurt. All my Ranger race truck parts, transmissions, transfer cases and tires/rims are toast. At least most of my tools weren't in the fire. The race truck is OK too.

Ouch...sorry to hear that...insurance?

You insured? Hopefully you can replace everything to an extent.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm glad that you are ok!

The stuff was stored at a buds farm in an out building. I have to check my policy but I doubt it.

Dam that sucks, wish ya luck dealing with your insurance company..

Oh man...sorry to hear that, but definitely glad no one was hurt.

My dad's first brand new car was a 68 torino gt. Great looking car, but it was a mechanical disaster. I think he misses it tho.

Man fire is rampant this last few months two of my friends got burnt up in car accidents one to death while awake and my step brothers house wish ya luck man

So sorry for that. I know it takes a long time to stock pile parts and they're getting harder to find now too. Really a shame about the Torino, always liked the body style on them. Hopefully your insurance is helpful.

That really sucks.

Not sure how it would work insurancewise. It would probably fall under your buddies insurance if he has any. Car is iffy since it has its own "identity"

Best of luck getting it sorted out. :icon_thumby:

That sucks about the Torino. I had a 69 GT when I was in high School, Damn would that car run. Wish I had it now. Hopefully you will be able to re-coupe some of your loss. But on the other hand, the year can only go up. (Hopefully)

Yep, losing the torino really sucks - no insurance. It was the second car I owned, the first being a 69 Galaxie 500. I bought the car out of a farmers field when I was about 18 with a blown 351C. I did a quickie rebuild and drove it for awhile then transplanted a stock 429 into it. I street raced it in the early '80's with the 429 and won 90% of the races I was in. I don't have any pics of it in it's glory. Here are a couple pics after the fire;

The 1970 "d0ve" 460 motor/c-6 trans is safe in a different building, I hadn't got around to putting it in yet.

A quick estimate of replacement value of all my junk is ~$10,000.00.

Oh well, it's only stuff.....:sad:

Dude I'm so sorry that's terrible if I had 10gs to spare I'd forsure help out

I'd almost say you could rebuild what you have there. The shell looks to be good. Just be a pain to get the burnt paint off.
