Holy crap man what happend?? I hope you or someone else wasen't in it/hurt.

no noone was hurt, i apreciate the parts offer and actually im parting out the burned truck but if anyone has a complete 4.0 i need one for my other ranger which is 94 xlt 5spd. no clue how the fire started, im thinking tranny fluid leak on exhaust manifold maybe??

does everyone see all 4 photos or just the fire one?

I see all 4 of them. I can't believe all of this happened to you in two weeks. That Ranger went through hell man. Glad no one was hurt.

Ouch, I wonder if something electrical (computer??) got wet that shouldn't have and started making war with your electrical system after you got it going. Tranny fluid should burn almost the instant it would hit exhaust, it would take a really good leak to outrun it burning off. Of course if the tranny was half full of water that might do it too (take out seals causing leaks and blowing out the overflow)

the motor itself should still be good in the burnt truck, just gotta replace the sensors and whatnot that burned up, unless it was completely burnt down, then it prolly siezed the motor

Dayum! Nothing freaks me out more than a truck engulfed in flames!!! Looked nice too, what a shame. At least no one was hurt!

Friend of mine just had his truck burn but that was a gas leak and backfire. sorry man

On a lighter note. You really didnt think u were gonna make it through that hole(pond) did u??

That sucks man...
Hope you have good luck soon.

My guess would not be oil on exhuast, but I would say it was an electrical short.

I want to know the story bewhind that pond... Looks like an intresting one.

the motor is no good, somehow it burned hot enough for the 15 minutes it was on fire that everything aluminum melted down and even the block is deformed, its nasty. once i get my camera back ill post some aftermath pics.

that "pond" is a good story. i went out wheelin with a couple buddies of mine and at the end of the night they wanted to do some harder trails, ive done the trail many times before. however it slipped my mind that we had just got about 4 inches of rain in the past two days. so i drove around the outside of the deeper part but the front right fell in a rut. i had a jeep cherokee and a gmc sierra 1500 trying to pull me out for 5 hours and the best they could do was rock the truck. (by the way the both were lifted, jeep had 33's sierra had 35's) so after the 5 hours we decided to leave it. i figured it would be ok since the water level was barley up to the top of the front tire that fell in. we came back after getting about 3 hours of sleep and the water was halfway up the passenger window! had to call a local towing company that did offroad recovery. it took them 2 trucks with 15000 lb winches to pop it out of the rut.
