Im wanting to know what all does a programmer being a sct or cortex do with the transmission? Is there any benefit of it? Ive been looking into a cortex programmer but not sure if i want to put down 400 if its not helping at all, really would be nice to hear from people with them.

I don't have one but I know from previous computer tuning experience you can change shift points, get faster and firmer shifts in an electronic controlled transmission by way of reprogramming. Firmer and faster shifts means it's not in between gears (or in two gears at once for comfort) as long and bands/clutches aren't slipping as much which means less wear and tear on your tranny.
