Auto tranny :(

I got a transmission from Pull-A-Part, but I found out I can't use it, the engine was locked up from someone pulling the heads, and then leaving the hood up, SO i couldn't get the torq converter, and Strange Junkyard, said they won't sell a used torq converter, or sell a trans without it, and right now I can't afford 130.00 plus tax for a new torqC., Monday I'm going to go back and try to get it off some how.

My father-in-law, said we should take mine apart and see what wrong with it, I'm going to tear it down monday evening, and if I can't get the old torqC. off the junkyard ranger, I'll use the trans for parts for mine.

I'm also going to rent a transjack for 21.00 a day, won't need it for more then one day, so that should work out good.

if you get one from a junkyard, id find out why the vehicle is at the junkyard. i wouldnt grab an auto from a junk vehicle unless it was a wreck or obvious engine damage. those autos blow up constantly.

I looked at every vehicle on thier lot today at the Knoxville one, only found 1 that I thought would work (found two from a 86 and 88 but didn't know if they would work) and the last Ranger Supercab was a 89 model, and the backend was trashed, the engine would have been good, but some dumb butt took thee heads, and then left the hood up, the engine was full of water and locked up, so I couldn't geet the torqC. but I'm going back Monday and trying to get it.
